Which subscription is right for me?

Channel 67 Online+ or Channel 67 Premium is available outside of the UK & Ireland, this is due to contractual reasons. In order that we can comply fully with these restrictions, we have procedures in place to ensure that only those from outside those areas can use it. If you attempt to connect to a Channel 67 Online+ or Channel 67 Premium stream from within the proscribed areas (we can verify this by the IP address of your computer), you will be denied access to the stream.
Channel 67 Online is available worldwide.

Recommended PC Settings

What are the minimum requirements for Channel 67?

For Channel 67 Online you need to have:

  • A PC running genuine Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Vista
  • Internet Explorer 6 or 7
  • Windows Media Player 9 or greater
  • A broadband connection for video archive material, although dial up will be sufficient for live audio commentary. Please use a wired connection, not wireless, to reduce the potential for buffering.

For Channel 67 Online+ you need to have the same set up as above AND a broadband connection of at least 512Kbps but preferably 1Mbps for access to the live match video. Please use a wired connection, not wireless, to reduce the potential for buffering.

For Channel 67 Premium you need to have a PC with a minimum of an Athlon or Pentium 4 processor running at 2.6Ghz, 2GB of RAM and a 256MB graphics card. The PC should also have:

  • Genuine Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Vista
  • Internet Explorer 6 or 7
  • Windows Media Player 9 or greater
  • An uncontested broadband connection with a sustained download rate of 2Mbps to access the high bandwidth Premium content. Please use a wired connection, not wireless, to reduce the potential for buffering.

Unfortunately, at this stage Channel 67 cannot support the Mac or Unix operating systems.

How can I optimise my Windows Media Player for Channel 67 Premium?

In the TOOLS > OPTIONS > PERFORMANCE panel on the player, turn off automatic speed detection and choose the T1 (1.5Mbps) setting to ensure that Media Player has reserved enough bandwidth for the stream. You should then select buffering and input 60 for the number of seconds to buffer. Also, please ensure you are not using a wireless connection.

How can I optimise my Windows Media Player for Channel 67 Online+?

In the TOOLS > OPTIONS > PERFORMANCE panel on the player, select automatic speed detection. You should then select buffering and input 30 for the number of seconds to buffer, if you encounter buffering during a match you should increase this number. You should turn down video acceleration as well. Also, please ensure you are not using a wireless connection.

How do I check the speed of my broadband connection?

There are several website that will check your connection speed. These will give an indication of the actual speed rather than the 'up to' speed given by some ISPs.  ThinkBroadband is a UK website which offers a speed test applet.

Common Issues

How do I get out of the login loop when trying to watch a match?

Please ensure you are using Internet Explorer and not Firefox or an alternative browser.
The security in place for Channel 67 requires that your PC be set to the correct date, time and timezone for your location.  If you are getting caught in the loop you must check your time and date settings in the control panel.  To allow Channel 67 to deliver a license you must ensure that your date, time and timezone are all set correctly.

How can I reduce buffering?

The Channel 67 Online+ content is multi-streamed. Sometimes the WMP tries to be too clever in streaming the content at too high a bit-rate. If you go into the options panel on the player, tell it that you have a lower connection than you have. The advertised speeds on your ISP do not apply to external internet content anyway, so the speed of what you get will be much slower. Turning down lower than your connection speed should alleviate buffering. You should turn down video acceleration as well. Also, please ensure you are not using a wireless connection.

Can I use a different PC to view a match?

Yes, but you are only allowed to logon to Channel 67 from one PC at a time. Simultaneous logons from different computers can result in suspension of your account with no possibility of a refund.

Can I retrieve my forgotten password?

Yes, if you have forgotten your password please use the link on the menu bar above, or click here.
